Artist Statement

Birthed from a broken heart, this work examines the emerging principles of interpersonal neurobiology as an embodied and relational process to support compassion, kindness, resilience, and well-being in our personal lives, our relationships, and our communities. Underpinning interpersonal neurobiology is our mind, which creates our subjective experience, the felt texture of life, consciousness, our capacity to be aware and regulates the inner and inter flow of energy and information.

Through integration of different aspects of a system, whether they exist within a single person or the collective, the human experience can become flexible and adaptive to support vitality, creativity and harmony. By understanding our familial attachment styles, individuals can heal through relationship with themselves and others. The installation embodies ritual practice as a methodology to support relationality, build intentional spaces and inclusive community.
