I have held a long-term interest in the relationship between humans and our simian relatives. Through analysis of this relationship I think a deeper expose of human nature is possible. When looking at the hands of a chimpanzee, or into the eyes of a gorilla it is hard to deny our place within ‘nature’.
My art practice is multi- disciplined, and is directly related to my research at Zoos and scientific research centres, field trips to Borneo and first hand experiences of inter-simian relationships. My most recent work being a series of photographs taken of a circus clown and the Chimpanzee ‘Mugsy’, whom he reared from birth.
